Bedford Market Place Shopping Center Renovation Expected To Begin Soon

With the improving economy, the long awaited renovations to Bedford Market Place shopping center are expected to begin soon. The shopping center, which has Marshall's and Whole Foods as it's anchor tenants, had formalized plans for a renovation back in 2008 but the faltering economy put things on hold.

The original plans from 2008. While some changes are expected, the basic layout is expected to be retained. The Bedford post office retail store and the mail distribution building are likely to be relocated. Click on the image to zoom in

Delighted to see this getting underway! Adam, do you know if the Bedford historic district renovations are going ahead anytime soon (underground electrical wires, new faux gas streetlamps, etc.) or have they been benched?

I do know the Traffic light at the Intersection of South Road and Great Road is going to be replaced with a more historic looking one. Not sure about the underground wires - I think that was going to cost a lot of money.

On the Shopping Center renovation, the post office distribution center should soon be moving across the street to the TD Bank building (175 Great Road).
